El Gallo Supremo: Jim Richter tune from album “In-Tuition: Mandopoly”

This is the Dawg-inspired tune I wrote for my album “In-Tuition: Mandopoly.”  This album is still available through my jimrichter.com webstore, Amazon, and Apple Music.  It is also available for streaming on Spotify and other platforms.

The tune combines a variety of influences beyond Dawg, to include gypsy (shades of Minor Swing abound), Hendrix, blues, and Sam Bush (think Sapporo).

Like many dolled-up blues tunes, even though the head is not a 12-bar form, all solos will be over a 12-bar minor blues.

In this recording, I played all instruments (mandolin, string bass, guitar).

This tune was recently highlighted in my recent interview on Daniel Patrick’s Mandolins and Beer podcast.  https://mandolinsandbeer.com/the-mandolins-and-beer-podcast-182-jim-richter/
